9-11s ATLETICO TAKE TOP RUNG

After a shaky start to the season, 9-11s Atletico have hit their straps and are now dominating their competition.  Under the guidance of Coach Dafydd Jones, the team has pulled together and rolled on a winning streak in recent rounds.  Their win over City on the weekend has seen them claim top spot on the competition ladder.

Atletico maintained control of the game with strong work from Judd Major in the midfield and Phoenix Jones making the most of his opportunities to drive three shots home to bag a hat trick.

City was well led by Euen McIlroy and created scoring opportunities but had trouble converting.  Conor Sinnott had a great game with some clinical passing.  McIlroy scored a single and Elijah Bergman, having been lent out from Atletico to City to make up their numbers, somewhat sheepishly slotted one in from behind GK Archie Lykke to score against his own team.

Goal of the day was Atletico’s Otis Gleave with a glorious shot from long range into the top bins.  Two quick goals from Isaac Jones with assistance from Charlie Green made the haul 6 for Atletico.
